Do a search mate, there has been a topic on this before. We put ours on our trader's policy.

Ive got a vw bus on lancaster at the mo, but I thibk you need to lose the back 3 seats to get anywhere...... Fred stuck up a link for a monthly trade insurance and I think thats the way foward if you have more than 2 cars.

I spoke to that insurance company and they will sell the monthly trade insurance to anybody but if you need to claim you need to prove you are in the trade! So I didn't see much point going that route because they wanted to much info (ie accounts books and reciepts).

When was the last time you rushed to claim on insurance? I don't think we have ever clamed for 15 years or more. As for accounts and reciepts, all I ever supplied for ours was copies of driver's licences. We do have a website though.

I was (because I was once...) going the valet route because you don't need to prove sales

You would still need to produce sales as you are still making sales! I tried all the routes believe me, and it only takes one little thing for them to refuse to pay out.

Our official title is vehicle deliverer, so we don't buy and sell. There is more than one way to be in the motor trade. Our brokers know that we are assosiated with the film business, but sometimes you have to be 'selective' with what you tell some insurance companies. As for paying out, see above.

True, I was only chasing the 3rd party route really - more like a public liability really. Have you sussed any thing good on the insurance front yet ?

We have accounts, but in more than 20 years have never been asked for them from any insurance compny, for fleet or trade insurance.
