hi can anyone help?
a noticed today in the ice lol that when a give accelaration only one side is turning and the other is side just doesnt move
does anyone no whats wrong and how can a fix it so both wheels are turnin to give me more power
van seems to be getting stuck easy so am guessing this is why im getting stuck in ditches as much

so both wheels arnt meant to turn { Drive } ?

Yes of course they are but as you lose traction on a wheel all the power goes to that wheel. This is why off roaders have locked diffs, trouble is locked diffs don't make for very good road driving.

so both wheels sould be driving but when the van is stationary and a try to pull away only one side is driving three wheels am no sure if the diff is knackered or the half shaft

No, both wheels on the drive axle are driving but as a wheel loses traction then all the power goes to that wheel. Have a read of the link I posted above.

Well you don't give any details of the van but if you really want to check it then jack up just the wheel that you think is not driving and with the engine on tick over put it in gear. If it's okay then it will turn.

as mrpuk says it's normal :) you could fit a lsd but they are expensive and for the small amount of snow we get its not really worth it :(

If you had a broken shaft then the spinning wheel wouldn't be turning, cos the broken shaft would be, its completely normal and it means your diff is working properly
