Postby Eudo » Sat Jan 02, 2010 5:35 pm

Looking for a very easy way of wiring up this handsfree kit, I am a novice so need all the help I can get, where is the best place for the wires, how do I connect them etc.
Thanks

Behind the stereo, connect to stereo wiring, you only need permenant 12v+ ignition 12v+ earth & mute if you connect that. is it an aftermarket radio you have?

I have the Nokia wired car kit not the bluetooth one that you have. all I did was tie wrap the brain (little black box) to one of the metal supports over the glove box ( take out the dash tray above glove box to gain access) used a self tapper to connect earth to the bulkhead in glovebox area and feed the 2 positive wires to back of radio behind dash and connect to radio loom. one switched live and one permanent live. also connected the radio mute wire to the corresponding cable on back of radio (depending on what radio you have, you may or may not have this feature on your radio. you can also get a telemutes lead which will mute the radio and allow the phone to connect through the vans speakers.
The best way to connect the wires is to solder to the existing loom and wrap in insulation tape.

its the 1 with the bigger wires, dont know colours off hand 1 plug is for speakers, 1 is probably for the remote control stalk and the other is the power. you really need a 12v tester or multimeter if not I will have a look at mine and give you the wire colours.
p.s. have a look on the radio sticker it usualy states which pins are what

Mate I have the same kit. Just sell it back on eBay. Its useless in a van way to much distortion as the mic is quite far away from you.
