Take no notice of what any manual or book says

Get the van all up and together with everything in it you will be using and a full tank of Derv and go to a local weighbridge and get a true figure.

You can google weighbridges and find your local one. It'll cost 5 or 6 £ to have it weighed .

Also will vary on what body you have on your vehicle. Just weigh it unloaded as ME said. John L.

£5 or £6 to have it weighed? If you've even a hlaf decent relationship with your local quarry or sand & ballast depot you can weigh it for free. Failing that take it to a scrappy and take a note of the number on the display, then do a quick U-y and proceed to drive out of there. Tell the guy at the booth you forget to load the scrap and you'l be back later when you've remembered to load it.

hi
I phone the local police and said I was worried about the weight of my vehicle and wanted to stay legal. They told me the address of my local weighbridge. When I got there I said the police had advised me to go there, they did it for free.
