Stereo/Speaker question

Postby L200Lee » Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:48 pm

Hi guys.
I wanna put some 6x9's in the bulkhead tomorrow, but not really sure on the wiring. i have a ford 6000cd unit fitted, and was wondering if its just a matter of attatching the speaker cables to the rear or the unit or if i need adapters and extra bits?
i haven't taken the unit out yet, and this is the first time i have attempted this sort of thing.
help/info is much appreciated.
Lee :D

Are you intending to connect them directly to the speaker output of the head unit? Trust me it will sound crap. You need an amplifier to get the best out of 6x9s.

I doubt that'll be RMS, more likely PMPO :?:

As long as you don't fit more than one speaker per output and keep all the polarities the same, I can't see a problem :D

Just make sure that when connecting, the unit is off, as a short can easily blow the output stage of your system :!:
