Postby joshmck » Mon Jan 11, 2010 7:26 pm

i have a 55plate 135 tdci transit which needs a cylinder head. would the cylinder head off a 125 or 115 fit or does it need to be a 135? also would a duratorq head fit or are they completely different? thanks

pretty sure all the 2.4 heads are the same tdci, and di heads are the same all thou tdci has a cam shaft sensor fitted, di can be converted if you find a machine shop that can do it. (do stand to be corrected). you cannot just fit a head of another van, you will need the camshaft carrier, as well. they are a matched pair, they are lined bored together. check when you buy them the are lazer etched on the side, matching numbers, also there are 3 different thickness of head gasket,, denoted buy 1,2,3, cut outs, , towards the front of gasket on the side,

you will need a tdci head ,any tdci head should do(not mk7) wont affect the power output as valves and cams should be the same
unless you can get a tddi head converted,(specilist job)im pretty sure tdci are only 125,135.(could be MORE engine powers )goggle northern road engineering,in newark notts,, speak to them ,there well into transits, and heads, basicly the power comes from injectors, turbo, ecu , pump

when you do head, change the head tempreture sensor at back of head as its a real pig to do when heads fitted
