Fuel pump power problem?

Postby dirty dee » Wed Jan 13, 2010 10:04 pm

Had a front OS bump, in my 2001 Jumbo. Steering took a hard knock, so it had to go home on the back of a lorry. The engine started after the collision but kept choking out. Now everything is repaired, it wont start. Turning the ignition to point II, the usual sound of the pump is not there anymore. Putting a multimeter to the plug of the pump shows there is no power. Everyone keeps telling me that it will be the fuel cut off switch. Point 1, it's a diesel, point 2 there are no auxillary heaters, and point 3, I can't find it because I dont think it exists on this van?! Checked the fuel pump fuse and relay, they are fine. When 12V is put across the pump it runs fine. Any ideas anyone as to why there is no power to the pump?

Cheers, Dee.

You'll need to post more specific info on your van.
