Inertia switch found!

Having decided that my van may not have been fitted with an inertia switch after a long time of searching, phone calls and emails, I have spent ages trying to find a wiring problem. My local Ford garage had told me that there was likely to be a wiring problem as there is no inertia switch fitted to my van. After a long time of trying to find a wiring problem, I found the inertia switch NOT where it is said to be. Supposed to be above the NS front arch, however after finding a sticker indicating the fuel cut off above the OS front arch when you open the door, I finaly found it!
I see this sticker everytime I get in the van! Talk about being right under your nose!

whats the inertia switch do as i have one, is it for the second battery? if so when i turn it off the van just clicks so is that battery dead? when i turn it back on it starts fine?
