Slam panel pics anyone???

Postby Infectus-Guy » Tue May 16, 2006 11:14 pm

Hey guys,
Has anyone got a photo of a MK3 panel (fitted on the van). I ripped out my old buggered one and my old man chucked it away! Now i've got the hadrian pattern part it just doesn't seem to sit right. The bolt holes like up OK, but the strengthening pressings just don't look right, the pattern ones are much prouder and don't flush up with the ends.
Thanks for any help, once this resto is done expect a BIG writeup with LOADS of pics!

heh, we're talking cm's here! The ridges probably sit about 1cm above the ones on the headlamp housings. Thats not really the problem though, i'm not sure if its all gonna latch properly after i've fitted it on you see. Damn repair slam panel cost me £50 too!!! Tomorrow morning i'll take a pick of what i mean, then someone might be able to tell me if it looks normal or not.
Thanks for any ideas/help,

This is mine..

Image

Its the original and has never had any bumps or damage, I can definately get my fingers under it. I think to be honest if you get one that sits close you are lucky, if not dont worry about it.

lol ... if they applied that thinking to the rest of the van then maybe it wouldnt be compulsory for all transit owners to own a welder :D ..... either that or we'd all be driving open top flintstone vans with no doors
