turbo actuator testing

hello need some help please
have a 125 ps di 350 rwd transit i need to test actuator on turbo have put a vacum gauge on to it but it apears not to pull any vacum does any one no if it should ????

When a turbo is working you should have pressure in the inlet manifold. A boost gauge has both pressure and vacuum readings on it and tee's into the pipe between actuator and manifold. You will get a bit of vacuum at tickover but once the turbo spins up you should have pressure.

Need a mityvac or similar to apply pressure to small pipe to actuator,you should see rod move as pressure builds,if not or you can blow thru pipe diaphragm may have burst.

Usually when actuator inop,you get 1 big miss/hiccup on acceleration around 2000 rpm. :wink:

thank you chaps have done vac test looks like diaphram is goosed , main steelers say the actuator is not avalable seperate any one no of a supplier ???
