It always makes you wonder doesn't it when someones first post is to ask how to bypass the immobiliser. :? :? :? :?

It sounds to me like you need to replace the sensor ring round the barrel which reads the code from the key, also check the fuses for the immobiliser

suspicious maybe but i'm an oap and the transit is my daily driver,i can't afford main agents prices and at the moment the van is worth scrap price like any 12 year old van and the ring has been replaced, and by the way all this is because of some mentally retarded toe rag who thought that he could bypass the immobiliser has left me without transport .if i'd have known that other posters would be suspicious and question my motives i'd have left the grips on whats left of the steering lock and left the key taped to the circuit board , at least it was driveable that way. all i want is to be able to drive my prefered mode of transport looking the way it did before my night visitor and get it driveable for as little money as possible,it's already cost a weeks pension in bits, bill ,bookmark.

No one will tell you how to by-pass your PATS on-line, just not the done thing, but people will help you get around the problem you have :D
Good luck
