MK6 horn problem

horn stopped working and it seems to be the press button on the wheel, can anyone tell me how to remove the horn press on the steering wheel please? . Was going to just try and pull it off, but I'm such a heavy handed sod and thought it best to ask first before I break it I noticed on the back of the wheel a couple of blanking plastic covers and wondered if there were some kind of fixings behind them.

before you go setting of the air bag, get someone to push the steering wheel horn push whilst you listen at the engine bay fuse box for the relay clicking, if it does it usually the horn itself that is faulty

iirc its at the passenger side of the engine bay near the edge of the radiator
