heater not working

Postby sidspop » Sun May 21, 2006 12:13 pm

I know that the subject of knackered hea :?: ters has been covered many many times on here, but last night I was out in The Dorises Rover, and I got to be thinking. A heater motor runs on 12 volts, run through dropper resistor and switch, from supply off battery, yes?
Would it be possible to use a different switch and dropper from say a Rover 214, which are readily available (cos rest of car is crap) and make it fit a Transit?
Seems like lots of people on here have a problem with the heaters, and this may provide an easy solution.
Thoughts gents (and Dorises) please

don't see why not - it's only a series of resistors just work out what wires go there and it's job done :D

The idea could work, but getting at the heater resistor on a Rover is not easy, and its attatched to the top of the heater box behind the dash if memory serves :?
