Programming injectors on a 2.0TDCI duratorq

Postby dai.dg » Thu Feb 04, 2010 6:23 pm

Hi all, I have a 54 tourneo which has just had engine reconditioned, done about 15000 miles and went lumpy so took injectors to be checked and they were all knackered. Bought 4 new injectors for £700 (gutted) just fitted in to bus and it started 1st time and is running lovely, my concern is dont they need proggraming?? i aint complaining but why do they say they need to be. Thanks Dai

yes need programming at dealers or diesel specilist, or independant with ids, they wont last as long and at 700 you dont want to waste your money , it will also be more refined engine, you need long number off injector, also if you ever take them out for some reason they need to be put back in the same cylinder,..just a point if you no someone with the right software, there programmed to firing order not cylinder order,..they are built to same standards and parts, from new but spray patterns are different so correction factors are built in to injectors.

1342....so first one to be coded is cyllinder 1....then cylinder3...then cylinder4...then cylinder2....thats on fords ids, so would think any other software would be the same way.. stand to be corrected. anyone?....if you buy that ebay software let us no how you get on, might get one meself
