hi

not got a transit yet.........looking at one. it's R reg 80 swb normal roof. it's clean and going for about £1100. 1 month tax & 12 months mot, 101000 miles on clock, cam belt done 90000.

what mpg would this van do, and what problems should i be aware of...

need some good pointers/advice coz i run a ford escort van R reg and i need to make the jump to the tranny, plus i can get more work for my courier business

Rust is the only thing to worry about :!: Check those front and rear wheel arches carefully :!: Take a small magnet with you :!:
Have a general look underneath for corrosion :!:

If you have a look under Members Transits Progress Reports you will see all the weak spots uncovered :D :lol:

well my mk4 swb 100 has just done 33mpg have a read through the mpg thread in transit talk :!:

load capacity in kg 80 = 800 kg or thereabouts 100 = 1000kg and 120 = 1200kg, 150=1500kg 190 = 1900kg

150 is the maximum in swb but as it has the 6 stud axles it has the low ratio diff so it aint no motorway cruiser!! :D
