Low oil pressure warning light.

Postby scoobytipper » Mon Feb 22, 2010 9:30 pm

Hi there guys,I have a 2000 x plate 2.4 75ps mk6 tipper 84k. i have spent a fortune on this van to iron out all the problems with it.I have replaced all the locks and had the keys re coded,i have replaced 5 cam followers.and ive done the cam chain tensioner and guides too, also ive changed the coolant as it had blue in it instead of red. ive also blanked off the egr valve and had the ecu re mapped. the last thing i did was change the oil and filter for ford genuine oil and filter 5w 30 oil. now the oil pressure warning light is flashing very dim on tickover but only after ive driven it for around 20 minutes (it dont flash from cold),ive changed the obviouse switch but no joy. any ideas as what to do next, i have to do the work myself due to money so could do with as much info as possible.regards rob.

Yeah not looking to that one.got it booked in to have a pressure test on it,ford say that they have never changed a pump on a 2.4 duratorq in there life so find it hard to belive that its at fault.there saying that its either fault wiring or the new switch could be faulty. :(
