Props, Axle Flanges, different PCD anyone help?

if you followed my introduction story in the other section you will know that some low-life SCUM stole the porp shaft off my MK2. I have fitted another one from a `MK2`, but this was mail order so I have no idea what EXACT type it came off. The length is perfect, the centre bearing and mounts line up perfect, it`s just the PCD in the prop to axle flanges are different and I can only get two opposites at a time to line up!

Do I / can I swop the axle or prop flange?, and how do I know which one to get? Other than that can I simply drill and bolt where the holes are, or will this also fail the dreaded MOT?
