Side Door dilemma

Hey guys ... this is my first post so im sorry if im in the wrong forum etc!!

my problem is with my van funnily enough! the central locking works fine except for the side door which despite sounding like its opening it remains locked ... this happens a few times of using the key to unlock then lock the van until eventually i can open it ... any idea how to find out the problem??

Have you tried cleaning the contacts?

Had the same problem with an old Escort.
