2007 transit air in fuel line

i have just bought a 2007 transit mwb i noticed it was up and down when ticking over went to main dealers they said it was fuel filter so i changed it that is when i notice the air in the clear pipe from filter to engine friend has same year van and is has continuous flow .that was the reason it is not ticking over properly .i take it is to do with bleeding the system but i can,t seem to work out how to do it .my old 2001 transit was simple you pumped from the top of filter if not to do with bleeding has someone had same problem thank you.

The mk7 is self bleeding but you must make sure you fill the filter completely, shakeing it when you fill it to expel any trapped air then top it off and carefully replace it , start the engine and run it for a minuet above idle, job done.The air is probably getting in from one of the fuel line connections, maybe a faulty O ring. I have air in my fuel line but it goes away when I take the van for a blast down the road then slow town driving it comes back so i am replacing all fuel lines and fitting good old hose clips.
