Down rating is a paper work exercise at the local Vosa/DOT Mot testing station

need to know what engine you got fitted first..if a old 2.5 Di then you cant unless you spend a lot of money..2.0 or 2.4 depends on the year atm.

I HAVE CHECKED THE LEZ SITE AND IN 2012 IT WILL COST 100 DAY TO USE IN LONDON

I THIK ITS THE WEIGHT 4.2T SO THIS IS WHY I NEED TO GET IT DOWN TO 3.5T

And yes, you are correct, over 3.5 tonnes and you'll need to be Euro IV for PARTICULATES
But Ford in their wisdom will sit there banging their Euro 3 drum (as they ignore the fact that you are probably Euro IV for particulates anyway )

But don't panic, we have a bit of time before Jan 2012 It can still change before then

is that for uprating and is it the same for up and down ie does it need the correct rating bits just we were thinkning of downrating the cossy mk6 from a T330 - adding side windows and making it a car classification but for it to be classed as a car it needs to be lot lower gvw than 3300

What about fitting windows both sides, rear windows, and a row of rear seats, then it is classed as a dual purpose vehicle?
