Fitting a light bar

Postby rogerdadodger » Mon Apr 05, 2010 8:26 pm

Hi, just wondered if someone could advise me on how to wire in a twin light bar on my Connect!? The way I was thinking of doing it was -
1, find a permanant live behind the dash & cut into it (colour, position??)
2, run a short wire to one terminal on the switch (with a in line fuse)
3, from the other terminal on the switch run a wire to the beacon +
4, then run a wire from the beacon - to a clean bit of body!!

Is this the right way or the stupid way to do this little job & if it is the right way could I do my rear work lights like this to!?

Did do a search but couldn't find much so could you help??

Thats pretty much it, use a switch rated to 20 amps, and a 15 amp fuse, but the easiest place to get a live feed is the battery

You could do your work lights like this as well

Cheers ake 8)
I was going to cut the loom behind the dash to try & keep the engine bay tidy!
My Connect is ex british gas & has a box under the passenger seat that works the roof lights & torch charger so I might look in there for a feed when she comes back from the bodyshop!
If I got the right switch would it be that hard to make it light up when the side lights are switched on??

No just find a wire that goes live when the lights are on :) Does the box under the passenger seat have a live supply :?: If so you can use that if the cable is big enough :)
