Removing AC from transit tourneo

Postby TDalling » Tue Apr 13, 2010 5:01 pm

Hello we hve recently bought a 1998 transit tourneo minibus to turn into a camper. In the back there is a large air conditioning unit which we want to remove. We were told that removing this will stop the front AC working??? Any advice as to how we can tackle this (perferably oursleves).

re pipe it at the aircon rad joint (rear) when you remove it but you will loose the gas and have to re-gas it after.

Cool thanks, is it difficult or expensive to get new gas put back in?

don't know about aircon but it cost me 100 quid to regas a fridge unit on my transit if I did it again I would get the gas recoverd but its probably illegal to just release the gas nowerdays anyway I read you will have to have a licence to handle refrigerants from this year
