This is probably not considered all that technical a problem so my apologies for that but I didn't know where else to post it. I have recently purchased a 2002 mwb high top transit 280. I was parousing the forum when I stumbled on this quote in a corrosion thread.
"as much as i love the early transits i would have to admit that they do rot badly, and due to the design being basically the same from 1965 to 2000 the competition took advantage and although the mk1 and 2s were no worse than anything else of there day the mk5s were
but the mk6 is a major advance forward, although i would still give it a full chassis waxoil as i would if i bought any van"
I'm all for preventing further rust, but am unsure of the procedure to waxoil. I know you can buy waxoil in a yellow spray can but what do you have to do to prepare the chassis for application or can you just spray it on dirt and all? How does it work anyway? Do you need any special equipment?
