Mk 6 FWD Noisy alternator bearing - need info

After driving through deepish water at the end of last year, the alternator's been making bearing noises that are gradually getting worse.
Time to repair it, so does anyone know how much of a bugger the alternators are to dismantle? I've had plenty of old Lucas alternators to bits, but know nothing about the modern Ford-fit ones. Any gotchas, or special tools needed, and anyone got a clue what bearing numbers are in them?
