Brake Shoes

Postby bozy6666 » Sun Apr 25, 2010 8:23 pm

Hi all, can anyone help i have a 2003 RWD Transit 350 16" wheels i am having a problem removing the rear drums to access the shoes and hand brake cable
I have looked at the back and have found 4 access holes i think 2are to check for shoe ware and i think one maybe to release the shoe tension, there is also a larger round hole

i have got the drum spinning freely but it keeps sticking on the shoes, any ideas or tips will be greatly appreciated :?

try a search as it has been covered a few times, more than likely you have a lip on the drum, and will have to knock drum off, which type drums do you have,is it a dana axel,if its dana and you have to replace drums be pepared for a shock on price of drums,(and they are a dealer part only no patterns for these yet) the wear limit on drums i think is 1mm ,
sticking drums could be a few things, handbrake sticking, drums worn ,dirt, crap, cylinders,as you say will need to remove drums
