water pump/power steering pump

hi guys iam new here.. i got a question for you. i took my tourneo 2.0 duratorq enigne to a garage. it over heated with no fluid loss and lost power the garage saying its the water pump which is connected to the power steering pump an the teeth or spindle have snapped wolud this be right and anybody know the best place too get this part cheers thanks for your time bluebird

common problem on FWD..the water pump spindle teeth wear and eventually the water pump then dont drive..easily got from either motorfactors(or if money no object fords)
