TRANSIT ENGINE PROBLEM

HI all new poster here,
Question for you its a 01 transit 125 t350 ,just had a replacement engine from a 94 transit it ran ok for about 200 miles ,then just seem to loose power ,it starts fine and can sit ticking over ,but if you were to rev it 3 or 4 times it cuts out ,and after the glow plug light on dash blinks of flashes on and off ..........but it starts up again ok but dies if you give it a few revs ..also if you do decide to chance driving it you can only do so safly up to 40 mph ,anything over that and it starts to splutter and might cut out ,any ideas on what might be up ?? thanks in advance for any ideas ...

So you've fitted a 2.5Di from a 94 van?

think he might mean 2004 engine..if glow plug light is flashing it means a fault has been detected and you need the codes read..get the codes read and post up what they are otherwise we are just stabbing in the dark..
but if you have fitted a 2.5di from a 1994 van then it wont have a ecu...

Sorry not too sure ,its my brothers van he had it done , ive asked him he said it was supposed to be a 94 engine but they put in a 93 after , sorry cant answer your question yet
