Hi Everyone,I have an 03 plate transit touran 9 seat mini bus i have owened for 6 months with no trouble at all. a couple of days ago without warning while driving the engine cut out just like id switched it of with the key and at the same time this happened the glow plug light came on. when stopped the engine didnt start again for a while,eventualy it started and its been stopping more frequenly since and it got to the stage where i didnt trust driving it.i took it to a local well known diagnosis garage and he has come back with this can anyone help work out whats wrong. checked all ecu"s, 1xpats control signal. 2xpump timing codes. this was on repair invoice the van is still cutting out any help apreciated thanks. bob

Do you know what the fault codes were?

Hi, no sorry its just checked all ecu"s. 1xPATS control signal. 2x pump timing codes oh bye the way its a 2ltr tdci. thank you bob

Yeah, check wiring loom behind starter motor. Very common for it to chaff through on the edge at the rear of the starter moter. The bit of the loom with silver insulation.

Also check the loom under coolant expansion tank. Also a common area where the body panels meet there is a lip where the loom chaffs through.

There are a couple other things but check these first. Fault codes would help alot. :wink:
