Weird stereo problem

Postby Cheese Monkey » Sun Jun 13, 2010 6:18 pm

So my (intended) set up is -

LG head unit

Amp + sub

2x door speakers front channels

2x 6x9 speakers rear channels

So, I have connected everything up, but as soon as I connect the 4th rear channel I lose all sound to the speakers (still and always get sound from sub). It happens on both sides. This happens even with the rear speakers disconnected, if I only connect the rear channel cables as soon as I connect the last one I lose all sound from speakers again. Tried swapping cables, speakers, sides, disconnecting the amp, everything I can think of.

The only thing left is a dodgy head unit? Seems like it just wont do 4 channels.

I dont know, I'm stumped. It worked for 2 min  . Was really enjoying wiring the sub and amp in n all.

Going to parell up 3rd channel and run that until I can get it sorted. Bit lame, only getting half the power output then :?

Does sound like faulty head unit, but could have been caused by faulty speaker, or short in speaker cable

Having said that could a faulty speaker cause that but still sound ok? If one of them is shagged it hasnt taken anything else out because I been playing with both of them for ages!
