transit engine problems

Hi

I put a second hand engine into a lwd 350/90bhp at the start of the week everthing was gonig fine until
wed morning took a few times before it would start after that ran allday
thurs morning took a few times before it would start after that ran allday
fri -morning took two times before it started the n stop at the shop now it wont start
it s turning over but won't start

any help

could be a fault with the timing chain tensioner, that will cause it not to start on the first turn of the key, then normally it will start second time around, did u notice a rattling noise when you were trying to start the van
