heavy breathing from oil filler.

Postby walt1984 » Thu Jun 24, 2010 9:36 pm

57 plate 130-300 swb with 27,000 miles had its 3rd EGR Valve 2weeks ago now started with a oil leak that looks like its from inlet side of turbo. had it ticking over took oil filling cap off and looks like a kettle boiling and smells like diesel fumes from a old tractor or bus and breathing a little from dip stick. is this normal for this engine? :(

little update, now breathing alot and spitting oil out onto grill and bumper when cap off, after looking at plumb centres transit i've realised this is not normal, back to ford where machinics reactions was "f**k should'nt do that" !
its getting compression from somewhere possible engine damage from overfueling that started as diesel knocking from cold.
all this after 27,600 miles with same carefull driver NOT thashing it to a inch of its life. the last time our firm had a van engine rebuilt or changed was my grandads anglia van proberly in the 60s.

hi
my guess is a cracked piston, is the engine shaking at tickover ? , a compression check is the next step, but experience tells me its a piston
it was like that before i touched it !!
