Which type injector is this?

Postby mvdlans » Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:54 pm

Bonjour,

I have a 2.5 diesel from 2000 and it has some leaking injector end caps. The end caps are screwed on the fittings for the return pipes. I went to the local Ford dealer but they told me my injectors weren't original so they couldn't help me. I've glued the endcaps in place but this isn't a long time sollution. Due to the normal vibrations eventually the whole stuff unscrews....

You screw the end caps on to the injectors. But the former owner messed up the fine screwthread inside the cups. Since my ford dealer and other diesel specialists couldn't help me I'm trying to find the manufactorer of my injectors. I couldn't find any numbers on them though.

They look simular at thes I found at United Diesel UK

That is the ones, exact ones will depend on the engine you have though.

Ah, ok,nice.

But what do you mean with 'it will depend on the engine?'
It is just the plain old 2.5 without turbo.

The 76ps engine will have the "bunch of bananas" inlet manifold, and the 70ps "doesn't" ................ assuming yours is a non-turbo engine :D

yes but by now most of the paint will either be under the glue or the paint has come away due to the rust on the injectors...76ps will be banana engine(orange spot i believe)70ps is black pipe from air box to inlet manifold or may have square air filter ontop of engine(think green spot)

From what I can see, it's a banana with red spot injectors, but the numbers are important because there were production changes to the fuel system :!:

I can't see how Ford's or so called specialist diesel shop can't help you, as it looks standard enough to me :!: (unless they were referring to the glue :?:  )

You must fit the correct injectors to avoid either heavy smoke or lack of power :D

Yep, it's a banana with red paint injectors. So it's the 76 ps version.

E-mailed united diesel and they can help me out with endcaps.

And about my diesel specialists, well, frenchies stay frenchies eah?
Unless, you want to park the car over at them and let them repair it for you....

Greetz,
