losing power going up a hill

I HAVE A MK5 TRANSIT 2.5DIESEL IT WAS FIRST REGISTERED MARCH 2000 WHEN I START CLIMBING A HILL IT STARTS LOSING POWER UNTILL IT EVENTUALLY
ONLY DOING 30 MPH ON THE OPEN ROAD AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE TOP UNLESS YOU START GOING DOWN A HIL IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD UP SPEED AGAIN
ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED OH AND YES I DO HAVE TO DROP DOWN TO 3RD AND 2ND DEPENDING ON GRADIENT BUT IN GENERAL THEIR IS NOT A HELL OF A LOT OF POWER .

With manual transmissions, you need to change down manually

Hi,

Might be the torque control sleeve, mine used to lose power and sometimes would surge but it was like a slow thing on a slow day replaced it and it was like a new motor.

Cost about twenty quid.

This is the link I used all the info on there I hope

BTW I ground the shoulders off a bolt so that it went down the bore the sleeve was so tight allen key snapped at first attempt.
