Towing a twin axle trailer - not level

Postby glasgowdan » Sun Jul 25, 2010 11:32 am

can I adjust the height of the nose of my trailer when fitted to my swb transit somehow?

The nose of the trailer is effectively too low down thus the trailer sits heavily on the front axle and barely on the rear axle. This doesn't help the nose weight on the tow ball either.

Is it a case of raising the rear van suspension? How easy is this?

You can buy a adjustable set up for the towball height , not a dropper plate as they are not for raising the height. One of those will be far cheaper than suspension Mods .

Thanks, but if I raise the towball height on the van it will stop the rear doors from opening when hitched up as it only just sits below the bottom of the doors just now.

In that case you drop the adjustable tow ball thing down to open the doors.

Is it a Home made trailer ?
