Mk 5 front linkrod arm

Postby simon3314 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 10:38 am

I started hearing a clunk on the front left when steering. Have had a look and the top of the link rod arm, (recently fitted), had pulled it's top 'O' ring off the bush which has remained on the anti roll bar. The link rod arm is completely unattached and the clunk is the two ends catching each other. I think I may of overtightened the ny-lock nut on the front wishbone and didn't allow enough play? Anyway I have a 100 mile round trip arranged and am thinking of doing this with that link rod off and out of the way. Maybe take the other one off too. I think they are for tight or adverse cornering whilst carrying a load? Not sure though

are u on about the anti roll bar link bush has come off? if so was propberbly either worn or the wrong one fitted...you could remove the roll bar if you wanted but you will notice the diffrence in handling on roundabouts
