Rear brake light not working

Hi

I found out today that my rear right brake light isn't working. I assume this is due to some damage I caused to the van the other day. I scaped the right side of it when squeezing through a tight gate at an angle (no comments on my stupidity necessary!) and put a nice dent in the body work. The back is fine though, no damage to the light itself physically.

So how did this scrape effect my brake light? What is required to fix it? How much will it cost me?

hi take it youve tried a bulb if not check connections on bulb fitment could be a dodgy earth
