Ford- engine problem & customer service

Postby faye30 » Wed Dec 15, 2010 10:57 pm

I am wondering if anyone has experience the same problem as my dad.

He has bought a brand new Ford transit van 18 months ago. He missed 2 services but had a service a few weeks ago. He has bought two new vans in the last 18 months spending £60k in total. The engine has gone on the van now, and they ae asking for £5000 to fix the engine as they are saying that the warranty wont cover as he missed 2 services. He has been ringing them all week asking if they can meet him half way with the money.

I personally feel that this is unacceaptable customer service and if Ford had their marketing right they would want repeat business. This is not good, and I am wondering if anyone else expereince the same problem, and if so how did you get on? Please help

thanks

Anything more than 1000k miles or 1 month over that 15K/1 year service interval, you will struggle with any engine faliure related warranty.........

All manufactures are the same... One of the guys at work modded the something on a Vauxhall engine and when it failed, they refused to have anything to do with it!!! Hard Luck, our way or the highway

18 months old,but having missed 2 services implies more than 30,000 without a service !
Dealer has to get prior approval from FORD for such a large repair (cost & labour) this involves providing proof of service history,no manfacturer would warrant an engine with no servicing for 30k +

Why spend £60 grand and not have a service :?: :?:

You're one your own with that £5000 bill...

I read with disbelief  that you would run any vehicle, whatever brand and never get at least an oil change :!:

I wish you every opportunity of luck and hope this teaches you an important lesson :!:

 How about a good second hand engine from a write off :?:

Contact transitgeoff  he normally dismantles late vans
