Performance chip

Postby Lurchersand1cat » Wed Jan 26, 2011 2:37 pm

Has anyone had a performance chip put on their transit?

I am looking to do this if it is possible and wondered if anyone had any suggestions or experience with them.

Thank you!

I have used a Tunit power plug in chip check them out at www.tunit.co.uk must admit i cant fault it power up from 140bhp to over 165bhp fully adjustable and i havent had any problems since i sorted my leaking fuel rail out loads of low down pulling power and a definate increase in fuel economy, a few advantages over a remap is you can transfer to another vehicle when you get rid of the van the chaps at tunit will fine tune to your van via laptop tuning and if your van needs a pcm update it wont wipe your tune.

There are lots of topics on here about the pros and cons of either a re tune or a plug in box this is my second box and i have never had any problems with either.
MK7 2006, 2.4 tdci, 140ps + TUNIT box = 165ps jumbo rwd known as "Big Blue" to the kids.

Thanks guys for all your advice, I don't understand half of it but hey ho it all seems positive! My current van surprises everyone who drives it as its nippy and a good goer whereas my 03 is like a slug but I need to sell that one( any ideas on price of 03 short wheel base low roof dog van? panelled out and had everything kept up to date) so would be aiming to get the newer one remapped chipped or whatever it is!

When I am a little more awake I will work it all out.
