hi all just found this site by chance can anybody answer an insurance question for me, they want to know the carrying capacity of my 1990 transit popular 80 but i cant find it on the v5 document :?:

i always thought the 80 meant 800kg

but im not 100% sure!!

Check the VIN plate, on the Mk2 it's on the paassenger step, not too sure on the Mk3, probably the same. I think that SWB single wheels are good for a ton. This information is not usually on the log book, if in doubt, phone your local Ford dealer, they should know.

There should be a plate in the passenger foot well, should show you axle weights and stuff like that..

What you want to do is take the unleaden weight from the gross weight and that will give the load weight.

O yeah and the Luke the 80 means 80 hp.

That cant be right! what about a 190

yes a boo bbo there mate , god if that was write my german joby has 130hp :shock:

and the v6 has 190 hp :shock:

german joby is a little 65hp and the v6 is 100 hp :lol:

oh and most non turbo,s are 70ps or 76 ps and 85ps turbo or 100 ps turbo and if you were well lucky 115 ps turbo intercooled! :shock:

i am just poping out in the v6 to see if i can find the extra 90hp! :lol:
