Hi ,Mark is your man for this, but first under the bonnet look down at the steering box, on the side facing the engine you will see a threaded screw with a locknut, crack off the locknut to release the screw, then turn the screw in say half a turn then re-tighten the locknut, once this is complete go under the wing and you can see the output shaft from the box with the droparm attatched, well get a hefty hammer and hit it in toward the box this will re-allign the gears inside the box then try driving the van, if there is still to much slack try another quater of a turn but remember to hit that shaft after each adjustment, oh and dont get over eager as you wont keep the van in a straight line if you over adjust it :D

geoff you have covered the topic great mate, i also find a good grease on the kingpins helps and fill the box with grease as well! mine is strange no play but still abit vauge :? so the box must be worn inside!
but if the van goes in a streight line but has just play you should be able to take it out with like you say about half a turn inwards to start with ! :D
