it should be possible to do the conversion.

(I havent looked as the dash pod on the transits with electronic speedo yet)

You may find that you will have to change the wiring plugs that connect to the dash pod. (not too difficult if you have access to a mondeo and transit wiring digrams such as those in the haynes manuals).

You will also need to check if the speed signal is used by your engine managment system.
If it is you will need to have a electronic speed sensor as well as the cable (you should be able to adapt the sensor that was fitted to mk4 escorts with fuel computers as it fits between the cable and gearbox)

THANKS THE TWO PLUGS AT THE BACK FIT THE MONDEO DASH POD EVERY THING WORKS BUT SPEEDO .THANKS AGAIN KEITH
