tried that twice, not for alot of money either. it did sell once but the guy never showed up, turns out it was a bloke bidding up loads of different diesel engines
to bump up the value of the ones he was trying to sell..
ive even advertised it with an adaptor plate to fit into a series landrover which i have (same as 2.5di which is a common mod to landies)
and the only sniff was for the adaptor on its own...

Hmmm, my engine is buggered in the series 3.
What would be involved in swapping engines? Will it mate onto s3 'box easily?
Ooh...is it still available?

yes bud, still got it
its a pretty straight forward job (even easier if the landie is already a diesel)
the o/s chassis engine mount need chopping off and moving about 4" nearer the bulkhead.
landy friction plate goes into transit clutch basket.
bolt adaptor plate to engine, then bolt to gearbox.
you need to also unbolt the engine mounts on the crank case and replace with fabricated mounts (basic bent bits of plate)
plus take 2 slithers of corner off from the foot wells to make room for starter nose one side and exhause manifold flange the other.
i did my conversion to di in a good days work, would never go back to landrover n/a diesel power,
i do have an adaptor kit to suit the york (exactly the same as a di) (adaptor plate, 2x engine mounts) but i would like money for that bit.
