finally finished cutting the crap out of the N/S step and inner wheel arch and inner and outer sill, started to offer up panels that i have cut to size to ensure a neat finish, just waiting on the inner wheel arch splash panel to turn up so i can dummy fit with the other panels before welding. I guarantee if i just went ahead and welded before i joggled all the panels into some thing will look mis aligned. Lots of surface rust to be treated before i weld in new panels and box in that section

Today was another challenging episode, had to cut a portion of the N/S panel by the door to slide in the a new splash guard panel, only way i could get in there.

Final fit before welding starts , seems to have taken forever but so close.

cant believe the bloody weather , forecast was for slightly overcast with intermittent breaks of sunshine , woke up this morning got everything ready to start welding and now rain. Its a right pain in the arse when you aint got a garage or driveway and you have to work on the roadside.

How bad was the inner arch before you changed it? Mine is rusting on both lower front arches so just want to get everything I need before cutting bits off.

Starting to look like it should now, keep up the good work

inner splash arch was rotted from bottom to top , as was the inner lower sill and the N/S step. Had to cut the outer lower wheel arch section out to get in there to chop out all the rotted metal and slide a new inner arch into position , bought panels from " Central panels auto parts". total cost for all panels was about £200. The way i looked at it was the time it would take to try and fabricate bits of steel into a decent shape to fit into the area i needed it was cost effective to use as much of the pre fab panels and put in as much new steel as possible for a cleaner look.

Still slowly cutting ,shaping and i reckon another couple of sessions will be fully welded in and under sealed. Then its over to the O/Side which is not as bad but still will need to replace at least 3 panels. inner and outer footwell sills and the step.

a little more welding yesterday before the heavy rains and lightning descended, have now buttoned up the outer wing and it is starting to look so much better , just one more session of welding on the N/S and i can fullu seam and underseal the whole area and move on to the drivers side. Be nice to have some guesses on how much you think i have saved by not having my local garage do this work as it may have taken them less time but up to now with all the panels i have purchased to do the job its cost me £200.
