Yeah - I just went round the back of the local carpet shop to their skip - I didn't want new carpet so I managed to get someone's old stuff (removed when the fitters lay the new carpet) for free :)

Any chance of some more pictures? :D

making VERY slow progress at the moment and starting to get a little annoyed at it - have moved it to my grandmas to have more space to work but it inevitably ends up with just sitting drinking tea all day whilst i struggle to think what i'm supposed to be doing. however I do think its picking up again at last so here are a few pictures of the van so far:

first up - my rather large violent friend from the garage - prodded it with the saw in the hope it'd leave and it ran straight up it biting away!
Image

here is a view through the side door
Image

and that chest
Image

the source of my irritation:
Image
this is the support for the loose board in the pictures above - trying to make it as compact as possible and working around the remains of the wheelarch have been driving me mad!

and in place
Image

this however I'm quite pleased with:
Image

its the access under the shelf for storing my mountain bike, tools and other dirty things I don't want anywhere near my living area.

opened up:

and a close up inside, complete with the various bits of crap that keep accumulating whenever I do any work on it!
Image

thats all for now - off to get me some carpet the morrow :D

that wood work looks really good, well thought out

keep up the good work, what are you doing about running wiring for power ect, i surgest that you get that sorted before you do any carpeting or you will make a mess

:o

Looking good :D

Can't wait to see it with carpet. Like Spud said though, get the leccy's done before the carpet is put in.

Alos, how are you going to fit a mountain bike in that space? Aren't the handlebars too wide? :?

Take the wheels off??

General george and Allied carpets in Salamander street do carpet from £1.99 per square meter. They sell the spray as well, works great as long as you follow instructions!!

Looking good btw!! 8)

spudmab - inverter is due to be installed into the end of the box - just not got around to it yet! all other wiring is done already

ucof - taking front wheel 0ff gives me some room - taking both off gives loads - i can actually get two in!

ok so the van now looks a little different :D

quite pleased with the progress thats been going on - feels almost done now :)

enjoy

the window in the rear door - this one i was happy with but the other was really untidy and had to be re-done
Image

View through the rear doors - carpeting complete

and again - with the led lighting on

LHS door

RHS door

rear
Image

storage chest - the lid is hinged - however i sdon't have a picture of it open as its full of all the crap i hid to take these pictures :P
Image

the floor
Image

the inverter - the black box contains all the auxilliary wiring and fuses as well as the distribution block for the 2nd battery
Image

LED lighting central strip and rear door window covers

and the light on

and finally an outside pic

finally a few pictures of my other project - building a bouldering wall for my lil brother:
Image

Image

as was to be expected i encountered a few problems - these mostly concerned the sliding door - once carpeted the door rubbed on the wheel arch - fixed this by removing all the carpet and panelling and minimising the panelling in order to reduce the thickness of the covering.

however once I had completed the re-panelling I found that I had accidentally run a screw right through the door and out the back  oops!

also pulled a wire out of one of my light modules - rather annoying really.

also snapped the head off my carpet adhesive canister rendering it awful to use and got glue everywhere :D oops!

anyway - what do you lot reckon?

cheers,

Jam

That looks great! :D

Have you thought about turning the van into a mobile bouldering wall? :D
