Sold my SWB Smiley recently and instantly regretted it, even though the offer I got was far too good to turn down. Worse of all I was actually half way through a job that needed a van when I sold it!
Anyhow managed about 6 days and realised how much a van is so useful so I now have a 1997 LWB 'wagon wheel' Transit. I don't know the technical/proper names for most Transits sorry but someone once told me this one is called a 'heavyweight' because it's the single wheel LWB 3.5 tonner with six stud wheels.
It's very tidy for the age though it has been painted recently. The door locks are a bit carked but they work and the rear and side loader have to be opened from the inside. I'll check the tech sections on here at some point to see what the cure for this is.
It drives well, and has power steering which the SWB didn't, but I find even at 70mph or more it's looking for another gear, though it does pull exceptionally well.
Pictures to follow, all I've done for now is add a full length flier (dirt cheap on another forum) which I fitted and wired in yesterday, and I have some blue tinted chrome spotlights to add, just need to convert them to 12V from 24V.I might add some stickers to break it down a bit as it's a bit plain at the moment even with two tone paintwork.
