hello all im new here just posted in the welcome section i have a mk5 smiley face transit undergoing a minor resto on the front end as usual its rotten on the wings door steps and arches so been busy welding in new panels got some pics here to show my progress will keep you updated :D

Nice work so far, my MK5 has a few holes too, wish I could weld. Welcome to the forum, I joined months ago but only just started using it, Its a great site.

I read about all these people having to do loads of welding to their mk5's but i have not had to do any to mine in the 2 years i have owned it just a small bit of filler in the arches :?

if you was closer id teach you best thing to do if you want to learn is pick up a cheep welder on ebay you can get 1 for under £200 which takes disposable gas bottles then get some scrap metal an practice you can teach your self with a few pointers :D

I'm jealous there's not many transits around that i've seen without rust lol :lol:
