the miles build up quick when its doing a trip to ipswich then london then back but via cambridge 2 sometimes 3 times a day with it doing a 300 mile trip on week ends with another driver..and having to be fixed whenever i get a chance or using the horrid van...
a little update now..I have done about 70000 miles since doing the turbo conversion on the engine(it was in my other van) and its still going strong i have done about 50000 miles in the luton now between 4 drivers thrashing it nearly everyday and it uses about 1/2 litre of oil every 3000 miles.pulling a box trailer .but god knows how many miles the engine really has done as it had gone round the clock in the donor van with no service history.
also the inside cab bit has been working well for us and has been hot when its been cold outside but it has been a little to warm on hot nights.but is very quiet inside as you can hardly hear anything outside.
Just to let you know the luton has now ben retired to the barn for a bit as i have now stopped doing the courier work from east anglia to london,so i have laid it up its done loads of miles and has been very reliable except for a few niggles, but as i dont have any work for it i have decided to lay it up until next year and then maybe either put the v6 engine i had in my old blue chassis cab in the luton but i will then take off the luton body and put a beavertail body on.and then put the luton to use with the other recovery vans..
