Aye it's nice and torquey this 140. One or two more horses than the ol' nana engine.

Picked it up from Felixstowe yesterday and wafted home playing with the cruise control. 38mpg on computer at moment but I'm sure that'll come down when I start to fill it up and use the performance a bit.

Well old van gone now. £540 .... £60 less than I bought it for over a year ago.

Then today I fitted the rhino roof rack. Heavy bit of kit, about 70kg all together. So with the aid of a bit of carpet managed to fit it myself without scratching anything

Had a bit of a crawl under the van at the weekend and noticed a few rusty looking seams. Well not rotten, but the beginnings of rust.

Bought 6 litres of 3M underseal and a gun to work from my compressor. Anyone have any tips for cleaning under van and applying underseal?

Do you really need a steam clean or is a pressure washer sufficient, then let it dry and apply underseal? Plenty in all cavities etc..?

Pressure washer is fine Get some TFR and put it in a garden sprayer spray that all over the underside then get under there with a bucket and sponge, messy job but well worth it. Get some waxoyl to pump inside the chassis rails when it's all dry Unfortunately if its a Southampton built van the protection isn't very good

You'll get used to the rack But if you don't as I've mentioned I've got a full galv jobbie for a shr van that sits flush with the gutter rail it's also the type with same size outside box section as the Rhino, there not as pretty though I've also painted some wooden batton and put them on my Rhino racks fixing them neatly with black cable ties, it dampens ladder/equipment/materials rattle and protects the rack at the same time although don't fit a batton to the first cross bar as the airflow causes the batton to vibrate and sound like a fart

check the back of land rover owner etc, there is a company that does underbody coating that is guaranteed for life (i think)..they steam pressure wash then apply..

Ah good stuff, I already have some TFR in a sprayer (it's what I use on the bike)

I think your right re the rack, saw another semi high the same this morning. Rhino next size bar down is 1600mm so would be too narrow for the 1640mm over my brackets. Ah well. Cheers for input.

Cleaned inlet manifold and MAP sensor today. 35k miles and was very shitty.

I've disconnected my egr as it can't be good for the engine?! I'm surprised it ran properly at all! Will it drive OK like this? Not bothered about a light but don't want to nacker it either.

Vantuner can delete the egr The inlet is a mucky job but well worth doing

I've already pm'd him for a bit of info.

I was wondering, when the egr is blanked. Is it sufficient to leave it on (as the remapped ecu will not tell it open) or does it require a blank? And if so is it blanked at the inlet manifold or further back towards source?

Just though there might be a slight performance benefit to blocking the egr circuit closer to source as it were?
