rare little van, swb 150! sht auto with a/c e/w c/l e/m and the worlds most annoying remote locking alarm, (free to collector as long as you can remove without mucking my van up as i can't use these)

its ok,,, not as good as the ad looked, needs lots of tlc, inside is untidy, few funny noises I'm hoping are not gearbox or diff, no heater and don't think the resistor is the reason as per ad!, all arches are pretty naff, rear inner arch has holes, found a hole in chassis needs a few bits of welding etc, but I think it's still worth a grand as it's a rare little van, don't see many swb 6 studs! I think it would have gone for more on ebay but I don't think the buyer would have taken it unless they were deaf and partially sighted!! the noise was a good bargaining tool as most people would have walked away, but as I'd travelled 20 miles out of my comfort zone I had to buy it!!!

lol they never do on ebay mate that's why i have to look first,I recon from the way it was described it would have hade 1500 or more, I've had so many wasted journeys, only a few weeks ago i bought a sprinter recovery truck up north (well for me anywhere is up north) for mega money, only to find on the drive home many undescribed issues,, and this was a 6 year old truck! which is why i've cut my losses on that and now back with transits! I would ideally like a transit recovery in auto but never ever seen one that was any good, only auto i ever found was in scotland and gearbox was naff so couldn't get it home!

Guess what I got from Harris's yard last week Richie...

The 2 bits of trim you are missing from the side  Picked them up because they are the ones that go missing and may be useful to someone!

ALL mk5 automatics are the 85PS turbo. If the fan doesn't work, either the blower motor is knackered or the switch is burnt out!

As you know axle whine is common!

oww can i buy them ? how much?
I didn't know that axle whine was common, i'm not sure it's axle whine anyway that's why I could do with your ears on it!!
why does this engine look different?
do you have the switches in your parts catalogue! need the one with air con,
also do you have the filler surround and cap as mine is missing cap and surround is broke, are they easy to change?
cheers matt

I might have a spare cap, I don't have a spare surround and I definately don't have an aircon switch - but they are meant to be the same as mk1/2 mondeo ones.

You could still get the surrounds from ford 9 months ago for about £15. Undo screw below filler neck, prise the old surround out (it will break) push the new one in and do the screw up.

I will come and have a look at it if you want - but only when the weather is better!

The heater switch is a pain to remove. The first thing I do is check the fuse (30A) then remove the radio & its surround, take the plug out of the motor ans check if the voltage is there (switch in position 3). If there is, the motor is normally dead, if there are no volts its the switch.
