Well might as well start here :)

Heres the Transit in question, currently disguised as a 2.5D non turbo running on cooking oil (i've hit 90mph twice in it, downhill with a tailwind) ;)

Highlander, good effort. :D

Am doing exactly the same except mines a mk5.
only dramas making it fit without any auto transit parts are..

Propshat:
Transit cant be mated even with a temp cut and shut due to diameter (bit obvious)

Cats:
have to be cut off as just fouls on everything)

wiring loom takes 3 times as long to remove from car compared to engine. and will take considerably longer to fit in van

Bonus is very minor body work mods, just bash drivers side back a little bit for lifting eye,
Oil cooler/ filter can be swung from 6oclock position to 9 oclock position to clear cross member,
fuel pump is a easy to "cut and shut" inside the tank

before anyone asks i only have 45kbps download capability uploading pictures is very hit and miss

well worth effort, think total cruise machine with all of scorpio extras

any dramas pm me am pretty slow at replying though

Hi Mark, good to know :) is yours up and running then?

I have the engine and loom already out the car.

Want to get all the bits i need together before I start as the van is still being used at the minute.

I have a Transit prop sorted thanks to Andyg so im really just on the lookout for a selector/linkage, the beginning of the light nights and some good weather :)

Do you have any pics of yours Mark? (even though you've got a slow connection) ;)

Would be interested to have a look at what i'm getting into, especially the cats issue, i thought they looked ok when i sized it up.
Did you make a custom system then? What about your emissions?

Highlander,
You should have said, heres mine, obviously a Scorpio, but its a 2.3 not a Cossie.
Image
One of the guys on the Scorpio site is struggling for Cosworth (service) bits.
The local Ford dealer (Brum) doesn't have the Scorpio on their computer.
( I guess its 10 years are up  )
I see you have already encountered the 'its a Granada' syndrome
I just agree & leave 'em to it, its not worth even trying to explain.

Aftermarket cats are a lot cheaper and a lot smaller than Fomoco ones !
I also have a 2.3 'P' reg estate (parts department), if theres anything you can use let me know.

Have fun

2nd time iv writen this  .... damn broadband if ya call it that keeps cutting out.

Have only one pic but not with engine in van am on leave from tomorrow but gotta move house, will try, cant promise but if need be will use misses internet when i get back to uk next week.

Cat fouled on steering colum, and figured it was just as easy to remove 2 instead of just the one, also should stop there being to much heat held near fuel/brake lines.

my "cutom exhaust" was lashed together from the scorpio as all of it was really good nick including the chrome tail pipe which is being reused in side exit system.

Van not running at moment due to losing one push on fuel pipe connector, which i cant buy in Holland and my German aint up to much more than pointing with me boot at parts i want and demanding jack and coke when im not working

however She does crank on the key and fuel pump is buzzing in tank, which to be honest is the most i worried about from the build,

now i gotta pull engine out again to rip out old wiring loom and feed in new wiring loom.

How is your loom?? mine is good at car end minus a couple of cables but engine/box is shot from heat moisture damage and has become brittle with age.

remember back up plan is always use the old granada box and wiring loom if your loom is shot.

If you are having loom problems (especiallythe g/box loom), they were renowned for insulation cracking & water ingress, especially in the cold, so try for a post '96 when they changed the actual wire to 'Alcatel' ? !
